Making Money Off Of Your Blog

The first thing you need to do, if you havn’t already, is to start a blog.

There are many sites where you can start a free blog, or you can buy your own domain and get it hosted if you prefer. However, I recommend you start a free one to begin with if you are looking to make money rather than spend money. Personally, I use blogger.

Blogger is very easy to use and very easy to start monetizing your blog. Because blogger is part of Google it is extremely simple to get started using adsense.

Adsense is usually the first step in trying to make some money off your blog. To use it, all you have to do is apply for an adsense account. Then use the code they supply you with to place advertisements on your blog. With blogger this is even more simple, as all you have to do is go to the monetize tab and follow the instructions. You can choose to place advertisements in your side bar, below your posts or you can use the layout option in the dashboard to add Adsense widgets wherever you like.

When deciding on what to write in your blog you should think about what other people will be interested in reading. The main thing though, is you need to know the subject you are writing about and be passionate about it. Ask yourself this, would you spend your time reading this blog if it wasn’t yours? It needs to be interesting for the audience you are aiming for, so it is best to find a niche for your blog. If you are searching Google for information on cars for example, would you go and read a blog titled “Sarah’s adventures in a flower field”? I know I wouldn’t. However, if you were searching on Google for gardening, you very well might go and look at that blog. So you need to aim for the audience you are trying to create by adjusting your content accordingly.

Another benefit of sticking to a niche topic is that the advertisements Google displays on your adsense will be directly related to your keywords. For example, if you have keywords such as internet, Adsense will display advertisements related to the internet, such as antivirus software etc. Not many people looking for information on flowers will click on an advertisment selling antivirus software. However, if you have a keyword such as flower or garden, Adsense will display advertisements related to that topic, such as a place that is selling bulbs. The benefit of this, is that if your advertisements are related to what your readers are looking for, they are more likely to click on the advertisement, which in turn earns you money.

To be able to make money off your blog, you need to have readers. Without anyone reading it you will never make money. To get readers, first you need to have a blog that is worth reading. There is no use trying to promote your blog if you only have one post on it! So first concentrate on getting some interesting content within those pages. With that and Adsense set up, you are on your way. As with anything though, it will take time to build up an interesting blog, get some readers and followers and to get a decent ranking on Google.

There are a lot of other advertising companies aswell. It is worth trying out a few of them to see what works best for you. I will list a few of them here and expain a little about each so you can visit any that interest you.

Kontera – Kontera provides in text advertisements.
Info Links- Info Links also displays in text advertisements.
In Links – In text advertisements that you link to specific keywords. This is a company that lets you have more control over advertisements displayed on your blog.
Linkbucks – Linkbucks is altogether different. This one pays you to place any link you like. For example, if you place a link that directs to your own blog you make money when someone clicks it. It doesn’t matter what links you place or where they lead to, as long as you have submitted that link into your profile with them, you get paid for it. This is pay per view, so people don’t even have to click on the advertisements displayed for you to get paid. They just have to view them. This company even provides you with a blog if you choose to do so.
Bidvertiser – Displays banner advertisements. The difference is, people will bid to get your advertising spot. So you will make the highest amount possible off your ad space.
Chitika – Much like adsense, although some people suggest they pay better. I am partial to this as I am yet to use it.

Advertising isn’t the only way to monetize your blog. There is also affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is when you sell other peoples products and earn a commission from each sale. It is very easy to set up and can be very lucrative. Here is a list of some affilliates that are quite popular:

Amazon Affilliates

Amazon is one of the most popular ways to monetize you blog. In blogger you will also find this under the monetize tab. It is very simple to begin, all you need to do is create an account and use widgets to showcase items to sell. Once again, these items should be targeted towards your particular audience if you want to sell anything!

If you want to go one step further, you can also open up an aStore. You don’t need to have your own items to sell, you are just simply showcasing a selected few products you wish to promote. Setting up an aStore is very easy. All you need to do when you are logged into your Amazon account is select aStore and start the process. You will need to name your store, create some product categories and select the products you wish to sell.

You make commission on every product you sell and this commission level varies in amount, but begins at 4%.

Clickbank

Clickbank is another popular affiliate site. They sell anything that is digital, such as ebooks, software and web templates. They are a very large company and have a wide range of goods for you to choose from. You can choose to sell items with a high commission profit or one with a low profit. Commission from here can range right up to around 80% of the products cost.

ShareASale

ShareASale has a lot of affilliates to choose from and they provide ready made banners for you to start promoting. They don’t pay through paypal though, which is one drawback for me. Although they do offer cheques and direct bank deposits.

So there you have it! By joining some or all of these you are on your way to making money online. What could be better than being able to work from home? While it isn’t an easy path to take, it is possible to make money online from the comfort of your own home. If you have the dedication, perseverance and patience it takes then you are already way ahead of the pack. Most people, in fact over 90% of people, will give up and not succeed. Will you be someone who does succeed?

What Is The Worst Kept Secret To Make Money Selling Online?

With the state of the economy today more people are looking to the internet as a way to make money.  The worst kept secret to make money selling online is that it doesn’t have to cost you anything to get started.  You don’t need previous experience, money or a paid website.  What you do need is to be willing to learn and to take action on what you learn.  There are thousands of people online right now that have built an online income and started out with just what you’ll find here.

You don’t need previous experience to run an online business.  There’s more free information on the internet on starting internet businesses then you could ever read, just google the topic.  Go to the business forums to join then ask questions, as there is always someone that can answer your question or knows where you can find the answer(the Warrior Forum is really good).  Setup an email account just for business related emails, then look for ebook sites with the information you want to know and get on their lists, they will send you a lot of free info that you can use.  Having information to run a business is not that hard to find but you still need a product, and that could mean money.

You don’t need money to start out online.  You can go to Amazon and see what information people are interested in and are willing to pay for, look for catagories and titles of books(popularity).  Then you can go to Clickbank.com and find an information product that is also on that same topic and you can register for free and get a commission everytime you send someone to that website.  How can you send someone to a product website without having your own website?

You don’t need a website, at least not one that will cost you money to put up.  Go to Blogger.com, so you can blog and make money online, then get a free blog site and write an honest review of the information product that you got at clickbank.  Finally write some articles about your product that are not just sales letters but give some valuable information for anyone that would also be interested in your product.  Submit your articles to free directories and they will allow people that need content, and that is what the internet runs on, to use your article with your blog address in the biography section of the article.  If the article is interesting and has value, people will click on your link to see what more they can learn from you. Going to your blog can lead them to your product, and then they can purchase your product.  That is how you get paid and the customer gets information that solves a pressing problem that they have.

Doing the things that I have just mentioned will cost you no money, but it will take time.  In the process of these activities you will learn a lot of things about the internet business and yourself, but only by taking action on every new piece of information that you find.  This journey that you’re taking to make money selling online will not be easy and can be frustrating (not to mention the scam artists out there) but since others have done it you can to.

You can see that you can make money selling online without spending money to do it.  When you use the internet to solve your problem you don’t need experience, money or a website that costs you money, you just need to be willing to learn and act on what you learn.  This article is just a start of a project that is very labor and time intensive, you can find programs on the internet that will get you up and running and save you a lot of effort and time.  You don’t need to invent the wheel.  Investigate some programs that get you where you want to go quicker and easier.

Want to make money selling info-products? Change your focus and you?ll make money like crazy

What makes your info-product sell like hot cakes? Do you have to be a big name guru to make thousands of dollars per month selling your information products online?

What makes people buy your e-book just on impulse? Is it

Its intriguing title?  Attractive cover design?  Its bulk?  Its cheap price?

The answer to all these questions is big NO.

Here are some more anti-sale suggestions. You do not have to

Build huge opt-ins Send out newsletters to sway the opinion of your members into buying your product Blog on consistent basis Participate in discussion forums and make yourself more visible among your peers and prospects Spend hundreds or thousands of dollars  every month advertising on Google Adwords Send out articles every week to promote your sites Seek out affiliates, joint ventures, or testimonials Pile on 50 different bonus items to your offerings Build glitzy sites Write florid and trapping language Write bulky reports.

These are well-trodden paths. This is not to suggest that those who walk on them do not succeed. They do succeed and this is why they walk on them.

But there are some unconventional ways to skin the cat in the information sales business.

You can sell a mere 12-page report for as much as and it flies off the shelves like crazy.

Or, you can sell 10-12 copies of a six-page report for .95 on a daily basis, with minimal marketing bells and whistles.

What the heck is the secret of creating such info-products?

The secret lies in finding out what is driving people mad with pain and offering them a solution. Here is an example from your own day-to-day life:

Have you ever had a sinus infection that kept you up at night, and wouldn’t go away no matter what you did?

You can’t comfortably go on day-after-day with a nasal drip, a constant headache, achy gums, low-grade fever, or that stuffed head feeling.

You’d want to stick a vacuum up your nose and suck out everything except your brain and your eyeballs.

It’s not an illness that kills you. But it will make you extremely desperate to find a solution, especially if you’ve gone through rounds and rounds of antibiotics, and nothing seems to be working.

You want information that provides instant relief, whatever its size or cost.

The moral of the story… pain is one heck of a motivator.

But how do you identify problems that are driving people desperate with pain?
